Rumor: David and Victoria Beckham in Car Crash

According to Hollyscoop, David and Victoria Beckham were involved in a car crash on August 18 while they were rushing David to the airport to attend the Olympic Closing Ceremonies in Beijing. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but there was damage to the car they were driving. You can see a photo of the damage here.

No other cars were involved in the crash. In his hurry, David sideswiped a stone wall. Victoria was shaken, and the couple was supposedly photographed once they exited the car, with David comforting a crying Victoria.

David and Victoria’s rep, however, is denying that a car accident ever happened and the story has since been removed from the Hollyscoop site.

There was no car crash,” Cheryl Maisel, their rep, told the New York Daily News. “David and Victoria Beckham were driving a car that had been scratched the day before when it had been left parked at the airport - they were not involved in any accident at all. There was no police, no crash, no paparazzi chase, etc. - just very incorrect reports via Internet gossip sites.”

I don’t understand why David and Victoria would be driving a car that was scratched the day before–this is a couple with a garage full of cars, after all–but even a minor car crash can be very scary. I wouldn’t blame them at all if they just want to avoid the media attention that would come with such an ordeal.

Video: David Beckham Interviewed at Olympic Closing Ceremonies

Below is an interview David Beckham did shortly after participating in the closing ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics. David “kicked off” the countdown for the 2012 games in London by kicking a soccer ball into the giant crowd.

David seems super excited about having participated in the ceremonies in the video below! It’s like he’s on an adrenaline high, it’s fantastic to see such genuine enthusiasm and energy.

Video: David Beckham Interviewed about London 2012

David Beckham, Leona Lewis and Jimmy Page were all interviewed while in Beijing about their participation in the 2008 Olympic closing ceremonies and 2012 Olympics that will be held in London.

David was a key player in the London bid and believes that London hosting the Olympics will do great things for the city and for sport in Britain. He’s really proud of British athletes. He also recognizes that each Olympics is a unique experience and he wants London to capitalize on that in 2012.

He comes in on a trolley and kicks a soccer ball into the stands, symbolizing London’s taking the reins of the Olympic planning. London will be the host for the 2012 Summer Olympics and David was a key player in making that bid a successful one.

I wonder how much involvement David will have with the Olympic Planning Committee and the IOC in the next four years. It would be a lot of fun, and a remarkable reflection of David as a sportsperson, if he was to be a pivotal person.

Victoria Beckham Has a Terrible Smile

According to a poll conducted by smile.co.uk, Victoria Beckham has the worst fake smile in all of Hollywood. Se beat out George Bush, Tony Blair, Britney Spears and Diana Ross to take the top spot on the poll.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Julia Roberts was named the starlet with the brightest whites. Simon Cowell, America Ferrera, the Mona Lisa and George Clooney rounded out that list.

I don’t think Victoria has a terrible smile. However, she shows it to the public so rarely that it’s not surprising most people assume it’s terrible!

Pictures: David Beckham Watches USA Win Gold

Even though David Beckham’s trip to Beijing for the Olympics Closing Ceremonies was very brief, he managed to squeeze in a few days of playing Olympic spectator. On Day 16, David watched the USA basketball team defeat Spain 118-107 to win a gold medal!

Ever since moving to LA, David has become a serious basketball fan. It’s great to see him get the most out of his Olympic experience and support LA Lakers player Kobe Bryant in the process!

On Day 15, David also took in some Athletics events at the awesome Birds Nest stadium with the chairman of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games Lord Sebastian Coe, London Mayor Boris Johnson. I love that David is so involved with the Olympics bid and planning for London for 2012.

Pictures: David Beckham at Olympics Closing Ceremonies

David Beckham was one of the participants in the Closing Ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, as they passed the Olympic Torch over to London, who will host the 2012 games. David’s participation was brief and simple–he was escorted by a child onto the field and kicked a soccer ball into the stadium! The crowd went insane as everyone scrambled to get the ball for themselves. It looks like David is a superstar in China too!

According to David’s blog, he was honored to participate in the closing ceremonies. It was amazing to watch on television–I can’t even imagine how awe-inspiring it must have been to be there in person!

According to In Touch, David Beckham has the hottest abs in Hollywood. He beat out beach bum Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, Mario Lopez and others for the honor.

Victoria Beckham Suing Now Magazine

Victoria Beckham is suing UK tabloid Now Magazine over a story that claims she’s addicted to sex and diet pills and that her sister, Lousie, is smuggling them in from the UK for her.

Victoria’s rep says that the story is completely untrue and defamatory to Victoria.

“The accusation is dangerous, defamatory and blatantly untrue,” Victoria’s rep, Jo Milloy, says in a statement. “Victoria takes her position as a role model to young women very seriously and is horrified by this hurtful, fabricated story. It is now with her lawyers.”

Normally Victoria lets the tabloid fodder wash right off her back, but she feels this story is a complete attack on her character and needs to do something about it. Do you think Victoria is doing the right thing by taking on the magazine? Or should she just let it slide?
